THE START OF MY BLOG

I have finally decided to take the plunge and add a blog to my site. I always wanted an easy way to share information with visitors and I'm super excited to start this journey. Keep coming back to my site and check for updates right here on the blog.

The front page and links on my new website are taking shape...gone for a uncluttered home page which is easy to navigate. chose the drawing of the UNION PACIFIC Challenger as my home page drawing.
added two gallery pages one for drawings and the other for paintings. started to populate the drawing gallery very much a work in progress just place a few drawings in at the moment as I do not think this will be the final frame layout

As you can see the resultant image I believe is quite stunning and a break from the norm. choosing the PSEUDO THERMAL IMAGE LOOK gives the painting a very retro look and as I spoke about in my previous post the limited palette seems to enhance the painting. this particular painting received mixed reviews....mostly people asking ...why...?

The mighty EMD SD40-2 Diesel locomotive. of all the EMD dash series the SD40-2 was my favorite with its well proportioned body style and well proportioned design. I did this painting for a series of paintings that I did trying to emulate the POP ART STYLE POLARIZED PAINTINGS from the 1960'S and 1970's. I will post some of results in a later post. The whole essence of what I was trying to do was to create some stunning artworks using an item that would not be usually associated with that style of painting. also using a limited palette of colors made the paint very cohesive and tight. pushing the boundaries of normal painting. the resulting pictures were a view into the future of were I wanted to go with paintings always trying something new in a well established genre. it did not go as well has I had hoped with most people finding it a bit bewildering......?

Well finally got the time to create my new website. The intention is to have a mixture of Technique, Reviews, Materials and general banter about Art and Artists. So bear with me as I am having to learn a new website coding to create this site.
